<h3><strong>ISO 9000: Traceable Calibration</strong></h3>
‘Calibration’ means that the test results from a measuring device (or source) of unknown accuracy, are compared with a device whose accuracy is known. This device is universally accepted as a ‘reference’. Calibrations are traceable to the International System of Units (SI) through National Metrological Institutes, ratiometric techniques and natural physical constants.

Calibration records any deviation from this standard and corrects it when necessary. Each instrument has a specific calibration procedure which indicates exactly how and what must be checked. Regular and traceable calibration combines the forces of accuracy and certainty and provides you with the key aspect of ISO 9000 registration.

Kipp & Zonen Pyronometer Calibration, repair and troubleshooting Service

Service & Calibration

Kipp & Zonen instruments are manufactured with great care and precision by our experienced staff. The manufacturing process is completed with a calibration that is traceable to the world standard. All our certified instruments are supplied with a one year comprehensive warranty.

The accompanying manuals and / or instruction sheets help you with installation. Service, maintenance and repair is carried out at ISO quality standards always using original parts to deliver excellent performance.

Repair of an instrument that influences the sensitivity, always includes the service of recalibration.The instrument’s software can be found on the product page or through the download center of this website. The latest software updates are available online and free of charge.

Calibration

An instrument is not complete until it is calibrated. It is the end of the manufacturing process that provides the measurement response and uncertainty needed for scientific research.

Precision Control Thailand is the authorised Kipp & Zonen agent that has a calibration facility in a climate controlled clean room. Our calibration facility is produced and certified by Kipp & Zonen, thus delivering the same standards provided by Kipp & Zonen HQ in Netherlands Delft.

The calibration facility is Quality checked by Kipp & Zonen yearly with experts from Netherlands.

Every (re)calibrated instrument comes with a calibration certificate that:

  • is traceable to the world standard

  • includes a description of the calibration procedure

Our pyranometers and albedometers are calibrated according to the ISO 9847 standard and pyrheliometers to ISO 9059.

We advise to recalibrating your instrument every year. After a one year period in the field the sensitivity of an instrument slightly changes. In scientific research the highest possible certainty is required. Recalibration of most instruments is possible several decades after purchase.
